Biography
Training :- Pre-diploma course at Sutton College of Art.
Combined Honours Degree (2:1) in Drama, English
and History,from Bristol University.
Spent 10 years in Rep. in many parts of the country, including Head of Design at Liverpool Playhouse and the Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh.
Subsequent free-lance career has taken her all over the world - Hong Kong, the States, Scandinavia, Germany, Vienna and Beirut. Shows she has designed have toured all over the world.
Her varied career has ranged from Morecombe Pier to the Old Vic. Along the way there have been 42 Shakespeare designs and 62 World premières (new writing remains a particular interest, as well as Shakespeare). Visiting Fellow at WAAPA, Perth, Australia and Visiting Artist at the APA in Hong Kong.
Shows include:-”Stormforce” for the Riverside Studios in London; “Twelfth Night” for the National Theatre of Norway; “The Man Who Thinks He's It” (The Steve Coogan Show, Lyceum, London); “Goodness Gracious Me” (Tour); “Macbeth” and “Twelfth Night” (English Shakespeare Company); “Macbeth” (Residenz Theatre, Munich); "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Can't Pay, Won't Pay" (Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch); "Of Mice and Men" (National tour); "Misery" (King's Head), “Split Second”, “Mad and her Dad” (Lyric, Hammersmith); “All's Well That Ends Well” and “Comedy of Errors” (Regent's Park); “Peter Pan” and “The Three Musketeers” (Crucible, Sheffield); "Rigoletto" (tour for WNO); the world premiere of "Shirley Valentine", “Winters Tale” and “Tosca” (Everyman, Liverpool); “My Fair Lady” (Aarhus, Denmark); “Oklahoma!” (National tour); “Fungus the Bogeyman” (Belgrade Theatre, Coventry); “Archangels Don’t Play Pinball” (Bristol Old Vic); "Othello" and "As You Like It" ( Ludlow Festival); "Let's Make an Opera" (Jubilee Opera); “Romeo and Juliet” (Sherman Theatre, Cardiff) (Design was part of the British stand at the Prague Quadrennial Exhibition of Theatre Design 1999).Gorki’s "The Last Ones" (Rose Bruford) “Man of La Mancha” (Guildford School of Acting).
